For a long time my illustration work focussed on the traditional drawing skills that I developed at university, and showed a real focus on attention to detail, texture, and realism.
In more recent years I have been working primarily in Procreate. As with my traditionally produced pieces, my digital work showcases a love of texture and detail, but brings with it a vibrant use of colour to evoke a sense of joy and interest to viewers both young and old.
Shortly after completing a First class degree in Fine Art at Sheffield Hallam University, I began working as a high school Art Teacher. Fast forward a few years, and after bringing my own three, fun loving (and at times crazy) children into the world I realised my passion lay in children’s books and so here I am, beginning my career in illustration. You can find me in my home studio with my cat, Pearl, snug on my shoulder! (Someone has to oversee my work, right?!)
